Bones Solo & discussion (pitch change, triplets)

I had somewhat figured out that you could change the pitch of the bones because now that I have 2 similar pairs of bones I was intrigued at how hard it was to get the same pitch from both hands. My left hand always sounds higher regardless of which bones I’m using. LOL

Because of that I’ve made good progress with simply finding how I prefer to hold them but remain in awe with all the great rhythms shown here!

The Kid On The Train Sketch

Here’s a little sketch from last year. The train had stopped at a station (Aarau if I remember right), so I had a minute to draw this kid who was in a train going in the opposite direction. He was all up in green military dress and was sitting, knapsack on his knees, in the space in front of the doors instead of in the compartment with seats. He didn’t look too happy about going off and “serving” the country and it makes you wonder since there are now ways of avoiding it if you really want to…

Friday Night Bar Crawl

A truly amazing thing has happened this month: public spaces all became non smoking overnight! I was sure that this area would continue to let folks smoke everywhere until the end of time, just two years ago a local restaurant manager was booed out of her job for just thinking such a thing…

But with the help of lovely spring weather there we where Dave and I, in a corner cafe that was packed both in and outside enjoying a glass of wine…

Scratches, Crackles and Pops, No Thank You!

A friend sent me this link to an article about how mp3’s are changing the way we hear: The Sizzling Sound of Music. I say we, but admit to having no love of the mp3 format which sound flat, dull and compressed, especially if you compare it to a good LP. Yes, an actual vinyl record, exactly.
