Don’t Ever Let Nobody Drag Your Spirit Down

Crazy enough to drive 2 hours down to Geneva to see Eric Bibb (alone) tonight!

Updated to add:

Besides the fact that two accident caused traffic jams made us miss all but the two last songs of the first act it was really a nice evening. I though he’d be playing alone but after a few songs Mr. Bibb was joined by Grant Dermody on harmonica. They played tunes ranging from old blues and folk songs by the likes of Mississippi John Hurt, Bukka White and other traditionals to gospels like the above, as well as his own compositions. Some of these where a bit too “New Age” for my own personal taste but it’s so rare to get to see Folk/Blues/Roots musicians of this caliber that I’m not about to complain.

So if Mr. Bibb is playing nearby, don’t hesitate he’s really worth hearing!

  1. It was a hell of a good concert ! As you mentionned sometimes very folk, but he really has a warm and nice voice.
An it was nice to see you guys !

  2. Hi Christophe,
    Great to see you too!

In case I’ve been misunderstood: I loved the old folk songs, hadn’t heard “going down the road feeling bad” in for a long time, great stuff!
