Haven’t had much time to write lately, one reason was getting the old car up to passing inspection level, since it didn’t pass when I took it over to the canton’s automobile department two weeks ago. Cleaned up some rust and got new snow tires, just in time too with the winter weather finally settling in. Not that I was in a hurry but once you get pass that first foot of snow it’s kind of nice, except for finding a place to park the car; cars & snow don’t always mix very well.
And I decided that my washboard needed to be right side up again so I’ve been working on that and will post with pictures soon. (picture added Jan 2010) I’ve also been trying to get some new canvasses stretched and primed and have been fighting with the fact that I can’t use my staple gun for any useful length of time without getting cramps in my hands (hello middle age & and yes, I use both hands, alternatively) which led me to buy an electric machine which has already been sent back twice for repairs in the three weeks that I’ve owned it and has yet to be of any use…
And now with Xmas looming on the horizon it seemed that the year is enough at it’s end to begin considering the next one.
Rattlebrained Designs wise, it has been a frustrating year to say the least. Cafepress seems to hate everyone, or at least they’re doing there darned best to make us designers feel unwanted. If they didn’t do the best printing job on black tees of all the POD’s I’ve tried, I’d give up on them altogether. But they did teach a valuable lesson: don’t trust anyone on the web and don’t put all your eggs in the same basket! :P
But a new year lurks and with it the knowledge that I can make designs that can and do sell, and that is nice so onward it is…!
