Ragged 'n Dirty Too

Yesterday at the Restaurant Au Temps du Goût while we were setting up, warming up, getting the balance right and all of that sort of thing, Dave started playing this “new” tune. New for us that is since it’s an old tune (of course): a quick web search brings up Sleepy John Estes (1929) who I’ll need to check out; his name also pops up for Going Down To Brownsville, another great song we’ve started to play. Anyway, we went through it once and it felt good enough so we played it during the second set. It’s a bit sketchy, but sometimes when you play a song for the first time it just seems to happen by itself, takes on its own form and goes where it wants to go.

This version was really different than what we played earlier, one wonders where it came from. a true gift!
