It’s been nearly seven years since I’ve had anything to do with bronze and it’s not yet clear if today’s just a passing burp or something longer lasting, but the fact is I was tired of stepping over the few works unfinished that have been lying around my studio since that far ago date before this blog when for many reasons and pretty much overnight I decided to stop with the bronze and did.
However I didn’t actually do the work on either of these pieces, a fact rare enough to mention (I’ve pretty much always done the chiseling, sanding and patinas of my bronzes), but picked two of them off the floor, drove them over to the founder‘s and said: finish them; so for the moment I remain free of any hasty decisions that could lead to an unwanted commitment.
A dubious action to say the least. Nevertheless, having spent the day at the foundry to supervise the finishing touches on these two bronze sculptures, here are a couple of pictures. First on top: Dance (1993, 51 cm. / 20 inches high) and Child (1997. 33cm. / 13 inches high), receiving their respective patinas.
Nothing new but a blast from the past: my, amazing how time flies…
(when you’re having fun)
:-p
Edited Jan 15th to add dates, heights, founder’s link and a couple of words here and there
