The weather is always a good conversation starter and the snow has been no exception, however it has raised an issue that I wonder about. How many times did I hear someone express their doubt about climate change, the proof? Look at all this snow…
So you attempt to gently explain that it’s not that simple, that they can’t base their opinion on what they see out the window, on the amount of snow we get in one winter. And even mention that in time, according to some scientists a colder Europe could very well be the consequence of global warming, how changes of the ocean’s currents affect the weather, and how difficult global warming is to prove in a way that would convince all scientists since scientific proof is such a restricting beast to begin with and climatic change such a complicated phenomena…
And you get that “dig the crazy man” smirk.
And so I wonder, does it really matter what happens to us petty earthlings?

Heureuse de constater que je ne suis pas la seule à me heurter à “l’herméticité” du monde face à ces questions de variation des climats!
Pour ma part, parfois, quand je suis patiente et de bonne humeur, je me lance dans l’explication des cycles de Milankovitch…
Je te conseille d’essayer, les réactions sont amusantes. Et cette théorie a l’immense avantage de faire en sorte que tes amis ou connaissances n’abordent plus jamais le sujet du temps qu’il fait, ou cette maudite question du “réchauffement climatique” avec toi… c’est pratique en somme!!!

Excuse que ton commentaire as pris du temps pour être affiché, j’ai fais qques changements et j’ai mal réglé les avertissement email…
J’avoue que j’ai du me rafraichir la mémoire pour les cycles de Milankovitch et que les expliquer me semble à la limite du possible… C’est trop grand! T’a du en donner des mal de crânes. :-)
