Last nights concert at the Hotel-Restaurant Mont-Vully turned out to be a lot of fun which was nice considering that when we got there the place was empty and no one had even reserved!
It must be said that it was one of those cold dark wet and dreary evenings that is more inclined to make you stay home, feet up on the chair in front of you, watching anything with movement on the TV while sipping at a glass of single malt; no ice please…

Saturday’s opening was a bit difficult, probably just a bad moment of the cycles, but still. Years ago, when my family was living in DC. every now and then our parents would drag us kids down to the various museums which was often fun but not always. I hated the medical museum with its jars of innards and pictures of disease, and I loathed the modern art museum with its art covered walls. Strange things happening in those, decapitated heads, warrior brawls, blood spurting… Why would anyone paint stuff like that? …

Haven’t had much time to write lately, one reason was getting the old car up to passing inspection level, since it didn’t pass when I took it over to the canton’s automobile department two weeks ago…

A friend recently brought back and gave me this African washboard from a trip to Sierra Leone. As you can see it’s a wooden board with the shape and profile sawed out. It is so rough that I can’t imagine washing cloths with it but perhaps they sand it down before using it or maybe it’s first used for heavy duty stuff and then as the wood gets smother, finer garments. Perhaps…
